Things I Love Thursday

Things I'm Lovin'

It's Things I Love Thursday time! Here's a pile of things I've been lovin' on lately:

Make Yourself Happy - Journal Comics by Lucy Knisley (She signed it AND drew a picture of her cat! AWWWWESOME! + drew a little face on the envelope...Double Awesome!), 120 film (Bought 20 rolls the other day!), Photobooths and kissy faces with the hubs, a postage stamp with Mackinac Bridge (totally want to go there!), a drawing of a Painted Lady Butterfly by Alicia of Ten Dollar Drawings (Love it!), Plus other things not in this photo: taking a few days off from the computer, being able to be a part of old friends' lives thanks to Facebook, lunch dates with the kiddo, Tetris!, reading in bed with the hubs, hearing Maz's laugh when she's playing with Dexter, supportive tattoo clients and their faith in my talent regardless of how long I've been tattooing, and so much more!

Like I mentioned above, I'm taking a bit of an internet hiatus. I'll be back in July with more art and photos to share! Since I always have my phone, I'll be updating the Twitter if you miss me too much: http://twitter.com/fawne

Big Ol' Tree Mural, Competed!

I think I work best when I'm given a simple idea and the creative freedom to do what I want. The client knew she wanted a big tree and had X amount of money, and I worked within her budget to give her a pretty scene to share with her preschool students. It's a bit of a win-win situation: she wants a mural & I've been wanting to paint a mural for months now. The last big mural I did was back in high school, ten years ago! (I've painted sets for a few plays over the years, so I guess those could count as murals, right? They just aren't as permanent as wall murals.)

Anyway, enough jabbering! On to the photos:

Working on a Mural

I've been commissioned to paint a mural for a local church. Today I worked on it for 3.5 hours. I'm exhausted. Please excuse the lack of words. Here's pictures.

On My Desk Wednesday

Also Known As: What I'm Working On Wednesday

I feel like I've been slacking these past few days, blog-wise, but I have been busy doing other things, including spending time with family (Cousin and brother came to visit for the weekend), stuffing envelopes (Membership drive for work!), and tattooing (Tattooed my cousin). I'm also trying to fit in some reading time, I miss casually reading novel after novel. This year I've only read a few books and this makes me sad. Oh, and then there's school (Final tomorrow!), and a couple of freelance projects I've been working on. Busy busy!

At the Library
I'm a big fan of the library and I'm willing to help them anytime. They needed help decorating for the Summer Reading Program and asked if I would paint something on their inside windows. Here's what they got.

At the Library
I also painted faces at the Kick-off Party. I don't have any pictures from that since I was knee-deep in little kids for two hours, painting itty-bitty marine animals on their cheeks. It was exhausting but fun! It made my day to see their little faces light up when they saw their reflection in the mirror.

Cute Cupcakes ATC
Here are two ATCs I made for a Swap-bot swap. I'm trying my best to keep up with mail art/swaps.

All in a days work, right?
