Kitchen Table Workspace

Even though I have a desk in the basement, I can't help but bring all my stuff upstairs and work on homework & art on the kitchen table. And yes, that's a pint of Ben & Jerry's in the top photo.

New Stickers
I loved my peacock paper cut so much that I scanned it in and made little stickers from the design. Now I have 250 stickers just for the heck of it. Check out stickerguy.com if you ever need stickers. They're awesome and worth the wait!

It's Been Awhile

"American Graffiti"

A few weeks ago I was invited to participate in a nearby photography exhibit. The theme was "Visions of Old Glory" and involved photos of the American Flag. Here's the image that I came up with, thanks to the creativity of my kiddo, and it's received great feedback. My ol' Pentax k1000 never fails me. My kiddo never fails me.

It's been a great summer so far, with few downfalls sprinkled about. I know it's been a month since I've last updated, and I hope readers haven't moved on. I'm still here, I'm still making art. I just needed a little summer vacation from the blog.

Let me give you a hint of what I've been up to: driving 13 hours to Michigan with my two favorite boys, staying up for 48 hours, discovering a new allergy, nine days with family and still not seeing everyone, losing my darling Nintendo DS and four of my favorite games, being brave in front of a biker bar, grand hugs and hoping for everything to be okay, seeing how cancer affects everyone nearby, choosing between sleep or an adventure (adventure wins!), wishing and hoping on stars, clouds, clocks, whatever's nearby, realizing I'm not as strong as I think I am, realizing I am as strong as I think I am, long "grown-up" talks with my best friend, hunkering down and working as hard as possible, being in love, paying debts, taking time to read a book or two, a new small painting, taking chances and asking, slow times at the tattoo shop and itching to work on any tattoo at all, newspaper interview and saying "that's cool" in print, watching my daughter learn and grow and thinking I might be doing okay by her, mornings spent cuddling, appearing in a local magazine, becoming a soccer mom!, watching Maz be strong and trying her best, internet-only accounting class and getting the hang of it, and making the most of it, the good and the bad, it's my life and it's mine to love.
