This set was a Christmas present to myself. I haven't used them yet. They're going to be my reward for when I finish another large project.

Took the hubby out for his birthday! He enjoys playing pool and it's so awesome to watch him play. He's SO GOOD.

It was a rainy, rainy Tuesday. The cat loved it.

My new favorite coffee mug. It reminds me of my high school punk rock phase. 

I curated a Feline Foto Show for a local bookstore. We always set up a way for the public to vote for their favorite photo, and I couldn't help myself and used Mr. Happy Cat. So Cute!

I bought my sister some soccer shoes. She adores them.

And in a fit of procrastination, I decided it would be a good idea to wash all the paintbrushes that have been gathering around the sink.

My new favorite coffee mug! Hyperbole and a Half is one of my most favorite blogs, and once I heard there was a Responsibility Champion mug, I just had to have it! Of course, the hubs says I shouldn't use it around the kiddo. That wouldn't be responsible, right?

I recently took a weekend trip to Michigan to quickly (too quickly!) pay a visit to relatives that I haven't seen in months. I always make sure to be slightly hungry when I visit my grandmother because she's sure to offer food to me. This time she asked if I wanted tamales (handmade! The old fashioned way!) and I politely said, yes, please, that would be great. But inside I was all, OMG YES TAMALES!

I visited my uncle in the hospital in Ann Arbor. This painting was in one of the many, many hallways and I thought it was amazing. I also took a picture of the nameplate, so I could remember who the artist was.

The view from my uncle's hospital room. I pretty much fell in love with Ann Arbor and I hope to visit again, under better circumstances. You can't see it in the picture, but there are several games of Ultimate Frisbee going on. I found it very strange to be in the north where it still looked like winter. Here in the south, it's already hot and humid.

Here's a sketch I sent to a client for approval. I'll be painting an elephant ballerina soon! I'll be sure to update the blog about it.

Watching the hubby play pool in a completely empty bar. He's amazingly talented when it comes to billiards and it's nice to sit back and watch him work his magic.

A sticker at The Earl. I'm always interested in how other tattoo shops design their promotional items.

We've got Tetris at the tattoo shop. I thought I had the best score and took a picture to proove it. Flan is my nickname at the shop, and my record was quickly broken.

A friend stopped by before Christmas and dropped off this huge bin of candy while I was working at the arts council. He just walked in, said, "Happy Holidays!" and left us with a ton of yummy candy. It took us a good two weeks to go through it.

Graffiti in the girl's bathroom at The Earl. In fact, the whole place is covered in graffiti! I could spend hours just reading and exploring the scribbles. This really stood out to me and was refreshing to read. Yes, be GOOD to other girls!.

Reading Nicole Georges' zine Invincible Summer while eating lunch. I want to be Nicole's friend. Yep.


Halloween bonfire with friends. We were wondering how big we could get the fire. Well, pretty big, actually.

This past Monday we saw Interpol at the Tabernacle. It was our third time seeing them live and they did not disappoint. Their set list contained songs from all 4 of their cds and we were pleased to hear our favorites. They're an amazing band, and play a solid set every time. I'm sure we'll buy tickets the next time they visit Atlanta.

After every show we see in Atlanta we stop and eat a late dinner/super early breakfast at Ihop. They had a new treat and I couldn't pass it up. Coffee w/ whipped cream and chocolate chips? Sign me up!

Practicing "Only God Can Judge Me" designs. I'm pretty sure I get to tattoo this on someone one day.


Our dryer has been broken for days. We decided to take every single bit of laundry to the laundromat and get everything washed and dried in one big swoop. I find laundromats strangely relaxing. They remind me of my childhood. Weird, I know.


I also did a load of laundry at the mother in law's house. I found a wi-fi signal and set up shop at her kitchen table. Marking stuff off my to-do list, one email at a time!


So delicious!

Foto Friday

An idea for a t-shirt. Did it the old fashioned way and cut the image out of paper.

A historical building was knocked down last weekend. It's across the street from the tattoo shop, so it pretty much killed business that weekend. We sat around and watched it being torn down for hours.

Dexter is most comfortable sleeping like this. He isn't shy at all.


Like most people, my phone serves as a back-up camera whenever I can't find / am too lazy to find my regular camera. I think I should start sharing the images I've captured from week to week. Foto Friday, anyone?
